So last Friday (Jan 09, 2009) after much thought (and stress) I made the decision about whether I wanted to be in London or NYC for the foreseeable future and I chose New York City.
As I weighed the pros and cons discussed at the link above, my gut (and brain) had been saying NYC for awhile but my heart (not sure if there is a difference between your heart and gut but clearly there was in this case) was saying London.
I love it here in the UK and I'm going to be really sad to leave but I just think NYC better positions me in terms of role and location for my long term goals.
That being said, I could always return to London later if I felt like I wanted to. Returning to the US if I had chosen the UK would have been a much tougher feat.
So that is it. I'm very comfortable and happy about my decision despite jumping back and forth for awhile even AFTER I had made the initial choice. I can't tell you how excited I am to actually buy furniture, etc.
Now I need to find a decent apartment in New York. Talk about stress, round 2!
